I really resonate with the idea of wanting to do nice things for others and how good it makes ME feel. I love the idea of demonstrating to your children the effort you put into it- the thoughtfulness of what would make the receiver happy, the gift wrap, instead of simply ordering online. I'll take a note for my future kids :)
Yes! Giving or giving back without expectation is the best way to give. I taught that to my boys, too. Whether it's items, time, through volunteerism, helping someone with a task, or something else, it's so rewarding.
Yes, yes and yes! I spent so many hours volunteering at my kids’ elementary school that I ended up working there and then at another school in the district (in the library of course!). After retiring I work on our county library’s big book sale each year, but I have to admit this is a selfish act as it gives me so much pleasure. Agree, too, with gift wrapping, although mine is not the most creative, it is fun to hand someone something pretty - and my daughter has caught the bug!
