Hi everyone,
A few quick thank you’s and announcements.
Loss. Thank you all so much for the outpouring of support about Howard’s loss (essay here). Our family is so grateful. For those of you who knew him, we’re planning a memorial service on Monday afternoon.
Post-hostage release. Come for lunch Friday and let’s talk about it. Although the situation in Israel is rapidly changing, let’s come together as a community to discuss the joy and heartbreak of the recent developments and next steps. We’re hosting. Join for lunch this Friday, 10/17 at 1 pm in NYC followed by a conversation with Mandana Dayani, founder of Calanet Foundation and me at 2 pm.
There’s also an optional film screening of the documentary “Torn” prior to lunch at 11 am followed by a talkback with producer/writer Nim Shapira and then introductions to many On Being Jewish Now anthology contributors at 12:45 pm.
Come when you can for what you can. The event officially ends at 3 pm. Sign up here. Let’s connect to mark this moment two years later.
Tomorrow, I’m moderating the Streicker Center event with Geraldine Brooks, NYT bestselling author of Horse, about her memoir Memorial Days. Please join in person or virtually for a conversation on stage followed by optional lunch. Tickets here.
Your votes helped. For those of you who voted for Totally Booked in the Signal Awards, thank you for taking the time to do so. While we didn’t win the Listeners’ Choice award, we did bring home silver for best host (culture) and bronze for best commute podcast. Thank you.
Our Zibby’s Bookshop pop-up is now open in NYC. Come browse through 200 titles to find the book that meets your mood and pick up a Minnie Rose cozy, beautiful sweater while you’re there. Open 10 am - 6 pm daily at Minnie Rose, 1019 Lexington Ave (at 73rd street). Our upcoming events (list in formation) are here. Join us.
Thanks, everyone. You’re the best.
