It's truly awe-inspiring, isn't it, to witness nature regenerate? Sometimes it can be infuriating when you're grieving to see crocus bloom in the snow, as if how dare the world carry on when you're hurting. Other times it's reassuring to know hope can exist in sorrow. I'm glad you're home.

I'm so happy you are finally home! I know you tried a few months ago and it didn't work for you. I was thinking about what you said about the mountains before the fire and now currently green and glowing. It reminds me of something I hung onto during the pandemic when there were so many unknowns. Nature just does her thing regardless of what is going on. Seasons change, leaves fall, there is constant regrowth. I'm happy you are experiencing that. I hope you connect with your neighbors soon.❤️

Im so glad your home again and things are looking better than before. What a beautiful blessing. We all must learn something from these types of things of how precious life is and the gifts given to us to enjoy every moment to be treasured and never taken for granted. May love n joy abound for you and your family. 🤗💖

Oh, Zibby, congratulations on being back in your home. Those green hills look amazing. Listening to that beautiful song now. So much is still gone, so many families still hurting and trying to rebuild, but this is a spot of joy and hope in the lingering devastation of the fires. Thank you for sharing.

What a beautiful essay Zibby. I'm so happy for you and Kyle that you are back in your special home in Palisades. The views are spectacular and it's amazing that the new greenery has replaced the ashes from that horrible fire. You continue to be an inspiration to us writers and readers. I am so impressed with Julie Doar and can't wait to discuss The Gallagher Place at our next Book Club meeting. I am going to be in New York next week and hope to stop by Minnie Rose on January 6th at noon. Wishing you the very best of everything and thank you for being you, Carol

I am equally happy and sad for you. You have had so much to bear. We each have, but yours over the years seems extreme. Perhaps it is your passionate writing, putting destruction of family, friends and home, somehow into a paucity of words that hit like an arrow. I send love and hope to see you again one day soon. Hope, faith, and this year, JOY! Elusive, but critical. Everything hard has taken so much of our joy for the last few years, but not yours, Zibby. I hope we can all find ours too! Happy New Year!
